Individual Counseling

Are you looking for a path toward more fulfillment personally and in your relationships? Engaging in a rich and meaningful life requires knowing ourselves deeply and acting on intentional choices guided by our core values, feelings, and desires.

Our relationships with partners, friends, and family members can become more emotionally intimate as we develop both clarity about our needs and courage to be vulnerable with those we trust to meet us on this level.

I love supporting cis and trans people in deepening the capacity for presence, emotional intimacy, and enjoyment through mindfulness, self-compassion, and self-acceptance. If you're looking for guidance in living a more open-hearted life, I'd love to talk with you about the possibilities.

The personal work that calls to us varies in different phases of life, perhaps as a health issue arises, as an important relationship ends, as children age, as we question our career path, or we sense there is more we want to experience.

Exploring our thoughts, feelings, and embodied knowing in therapy often allows us to recognize recurring themes and common underlying issues. The beauty of bringing these aspects to conscious awareness is that our work in one area benefits us in other parts of our lives now and in the future.

We may find that we have covered our pain with the bandages of productivity, excessive concern for others, and “tough love” for ourselves.

We might remember and nourish parts of ourselves we had ignored and forgotten.

We can move into a sense of wholeness. We can shift into feeling an abundance of love for ourself and others.

I offer guidance to my clients in discovering the blocked places, the unspoken messages and internalized beliefs that do not belong to us. I provide a safe space for my clients to learn how to release patterns of staying small. I support my clients in holding a solid sense of self-worth, of finding your voice, of living in healthy relationship with yourself and others.

You can care for yourself while also caring for young children or aging parents.

You can thrive in your career that connects you to a sense of purpose and meaning.

You can be in healthy relationships with partners who respect your boundaries and appreciate who you are.
