Couples Therapy
Relationship Counseling
Are you and your partner looking for avenues to enhance your relationship?
Relationships thrive when we are proactively nourishing our connection.
You may be seeking more effective communication skills, hoping for more understanding and support from your partner, or wanting to better understand how you can show up for your partner.
Couples may want support in navigating a shift in their relationship dynamic, such as rebalancing responsibilities or bringing in more appreciation and enjoyment, as well as addressing patterns evolving from anxiety or ADHD.
Relationships may need extra resourcing during times of transition, such as with making career changes, shifting into retirement, coping with diagnoses of health conditions, or caring for aging parents.
Couples counseling can also provide clients a place to discuss topics that may be difficult or feel unresolvable. I offer guidance to clients in working through difficult conversations. Sometimes these are topics couples have never brought up, and other times they are the conversations that have seemed to go in circles and never seem to result in a satisfactory resolution.
Clients may need support in discussing issues related to money, challenging issues with extended family members, or addressing resentment from past hurt in your relationship that still feels painful.
Please note: I offer referrals to couples who need support with high levels of conflict or contempt.
If you or your partner(s) are in an active addiction or abusive relationship, couples therapy is not appropriate at this stage of your work.
These sessions can offer you a safe space in which to acknowledge your part of the challenging dynamics and take responsibility for improving the quality of your intimate relationships. When each person in the relationship is invested in change, your intimate relationships can grow immensely.
Questions?

I typically meet with clients weekly or bi-weekly. Frequency depends on clients' goals as well as other considerations such as affordability and clients' other time commitments.
The duration of our work together varies for each person. Clients often find they can make significant changes over 6 to 9 months, and many choose to continue beyond this to address additional goals.
I recognize that cost can sometimes be a factor in the frequency and length of time we work together. We can choose to clearly set a specific goal for sessions to contain the work, and if therapy needs to be very brief we can also choose to limit the number of sessions at the beginning of our work.
If we are very limited in the number of sessions you can afford, such as only meeting two or three times, we may choose to focus more on education and recommendations for resources you can access for ongoing independent work, as well as referrals to other providers who may work with you to address related issues.

Individual sessions are $215, and joint sessions are $270.
Payment is made with a credit card, debit card, flex benefit card, or health savings card.
This document explains session cost and includes a Good Faith Estimate.

I do not bill insurance for sessions, and clients pay directly with a card at the time of service.
If you have a PPO insurance plan, you will have reimbursement benefits for out-of-network providers. You can contact your insurance company to learn about your benefit and how to submit claims. This document provides the questions to ask your insurance company.
If you will be submitting claims, inform me and I will set up your Superbills to be available for you to download through the client portal.
-
If you need to reschedule or cancel a session, you can do so through the client portal.
Please provide at least 48 hours notice to avoid being charged for the session.
If you cancel with less than 48 hours notice, please email to notify me, as you cannot cancel through the portal on short notice.
When possible, providing more than 48 hours notice is helpful when you know in advance you cannot attend, allowing me time to offer the appointment to others who may be waiting.

I offer remote sessions to serve clients regardless of location. We will meet via a secure HIPAA-compliant video platform.
If you prefer phone sessions rather than video sessions, share this with me prior to the session, and I will call you at the time of our appointment.
Remote sessions should provide the same confidentiality, privacy, and security as sessions in an office. For this reason, videoconference sessions use a HIPAA-compliant HITECH-certified service. When reviewing the intake paperwork before our first session, you will find guidelines and system requirements for us to have a secure, private, and confidential session.

Please email to let me know approximately how late you’ll be. If I haven’t heard from you, I will wait online for 10 minutes before closing the telehealth session and charging for the appointment.

If you are ready to discuss working together, the next step is to schedule a Discovery Call. We will talk about your goals for sessions, and I will answer any questions you may have about working together.
We can then schedule your initial session, and I will send you a link to your intake paperwork through the secure client portal to complete at least two days prior to our session.
