Keys to Sexual Intimacy

Enhancing sexual intimacy involves being emotionally available, present, and connected to your partner and yourself.

If you are in your head during sex, you may be observing, judging, or worrying. This is disconnected sex rather than intimate sex, even if your worries are about wanting to please your partner.

You can have a pleasurable and connecting sexual experience when you learn to be both embodied and attuned during sex.

Being fully in your sensory and emotional experience is an embodied presence.

Attunement to your sexual partner is your awareness of their verbal and non-verbal communication of their experience and desires.

Combining your loving awareness of both their experience and yours is the emotional connection during sexual pleasure. This is what makes sex intimate.

This shift into embodiment and attunement can initially feel challenging. If this feels new to you, I encourage you to practice this different way of experiencing sex. I am happy to offer more guidance in sessions to assist you in enhancing sexual intimacy in your relationship.
